Concert band - John Kraus
This group, for all wind instruments, brass and percussion included in standard concert band instrumentation, will explore and perform large ensemble repertoire.
Jazz ensemble - Michael Occhipinti
This class is open to any intermediate/advanced instrumentalist or vocalist. The group will focus on playing jazz in an ensemble setting. Advanced string ensemble - Dominique Laplante
The National Ballet Orchestra's Dominique Laplante will lead this string group, rehearsing and performing a varied repertoire of challenging string orchestra selections. This ensemble is for experienced players.
Introduction to chamber music - Dominique Laplante
This class is for instrumental and vocal participants who have little or no experience playing in a chamber group. You will receive coaching in the roles of balance and communication to enhance your ensemble playing. Groups will be formed by staff.
Brass ensemble - Garry Page
Trumpeter Garry Page will lead this ensemble employing trumpets, horns, trombones, euphoniums, tubas, and percussionists in various combinations. This ensemble will explore a varied symphonic repertoire for brass.
Mandolin Mayhem - Curtis Driedger
Reviving a phenomenon that enjoyed a heyday a century ago, mandolin orchestras are springing up all over the world. This friendly instrument, with its enchanting sound, is easy to play and lends itself readily to music from different genres. Join Curtis Driedger as he skillfully weaves together delightful arrangements for players of all levels, including rank beginners. Must read music. New Orleans style funk band - Garry Page
Combining traditional New Orleans style marching bands with New Orleans jazz and funk, this ensemble emulates groups such as the Dirty Dozen Brass Band in combining brass (trumpets through to tuba or sousaphone), saxophones, and drums to perform a repertoire that will have all the musicians moving their feet.
Pitched percussion ensemble - Colin Clarke
Colin Clarke will lead this ensemble that explores different pitched percussion instruments and performs repertoire featuring pitched percussion instruments.
Brazilian Percussion - Maninho Costa

Percussionist Maninho Costa's drum ensemble will perform the rhythms and repertoire that are a key element in Brazil's Samba Schools (the neighbourhood groups that perform as part of Brazil's Carnival every year). All participants welcome.
Chamber music groups - Selected Faculty coaches
One of CAMMAC's greatest opportunities is making music in small ensembles. Coached chamber music sessions are for instrumental participants at intermediate or advanced levels, and for advanced singers. Groups may be pre-formed or will be formed by staff. A Chamber Music form, which must be completed, will be sent to you if you register for this course.

All participants, regardless of vocal experience, are encouraged to take part in the traditional large choir
- a great mid-morning change of pace. A variety of choral repertoire will be rehearsed and performed at the Saturday evening final concert.

Jenny Crober will lead this choir that perform a repertoire of jazz standards and Gospel music. No experience in either style is required.

In these classes, instructors will lead the class in warm-ups and technical exercises designed to develop vocal skills. General aspects of singing breathing, diction, and posture will be addressed.

Scenes and/or selections from "Fiddler on the Roof" - with music by Jerry Brock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick will be prepared, memorized and staged. Bring costumes and props that you think might be appropriate.

Accompanists & soloists - Joanne McLennan
Instrumentalists, vocalists and pianists can enjoy this class. Participants can learn the art of cueing, communication, interpretation and ensemble. Pre-formed partnerships are encouraged, but not necessary.
A Chamber Music form, which must be completed, will be sent to you
if you register for this course.
Composition - Michael Occhipinti
Michael Occhipinti welcomes participants with no background in composition to this course where he will introduce students to a number of different approaches aimed at generating melodic and structural ideas. Over the course of the week, Michael will help the students tie their ideas together into a piece or pieces that will be performed by a faculty & student ensemble.
Celtic flute/whistles - Les Allt
Les Allt is not only an accomplished classical flautist, but an expert on a number of other wind instruments. For this course he will introduce students to some of the technique and repertoire associated with the Celtic flute and whistle tradition. No previous experience with this music is required.
Irish fiddle - Angela Rudden
Angela Rudden, principal violist with the National Ballet Orchestra, has a background in Irish fiddle and in this class she will introduce classical string players to the techniques and repertoire of Irish fiddle music.

Brazilian percussion - Maninho Costa
Children of all ages will get to perform in an ensemble using Brazilian drums and percussion.

Orff - Marion Roy
Carl Orff believed that one learns by doing. He created the Orff approach for music education that encourages the participants to explore the music in a variety of ways. This active and fun approach incorporates singing, movement, playing unpitched and pitched instruments, body percussion, speech, drama, and improvisation.
Children's choir - Jenny Crober
For all children ages 5 to 12 years; teens are welcome to join either the children's choir or the adult choir.
