OMC Music Program Highlights
Theatre interiorAugust 3 - 10, 2008
The first week of our program is geared towards jazz and world music, with a little chamber music thrown in for classical music lovers. Brush up on your vocal or instrumental technique with an expert musician, join a jazz combo under the direction of a pro, and thrill to the dynamic energy of African drumming and dance. This week's sensational jazz instructors include 6 time Juno award nominee, and OMC Artistic Director, guitarist Michael Occhipinti and members of The Sicilian Jazz Project: saxophone and Arabic flute player Ernie Tollar, bassist and jazz pianist Luis Simao, trumpet player Jason Logue, percussionist Barry Romberg, and guest vocalists Suba Sankaran and Maryem Tollar

August 10 - 17, 2008
Week two has a classical music focus, with a little jazz and world music on the side. Pick up a technique class with a master performer. Experience the intimacy of chamber music coached by outstanding instructors. Feel your skills expanding as you perform in our symphony orchestra. For something different, check out some hot samba rhythms with the soulful sensation Maninho Costa. Instructors this week include the members of The Cedar Cross Quartet featuring National Ballet Orchestra members Dominique Laplante, violin, Angela Rudden, viola, SingersLes Allt flute and special guest Elinor Frey, cello.

Evening programs include dynamite performances by faculty and participants. Cap the night off with a walk and fireside chat, jamming in the moonlight, or a cool beverage in the company of fellow musicians at the local pub.

Campus Comforts During its two-week summer run, OMC takes up residence at Lakefield College School, 1 1/2 hours northeast of Toronto, (20 minutes north of Peterborough) in the beautiful Kawartha Lakes region. Overlooking Lake Katchewanooka, this 155-acre campus boasts excellent music facilities including a newly renovated theatre. The residences open onto expansive green fields, and from your doorstep it's only a short stroll to theThe boathouse lakefront boathouse and beach. Swimming, canoeing, tennis and hiking are all available.

Accommodations & Meals
